Biography

Shannon is a community organizer, educator, full-time nerd, and an advocate for people made poor by harsh systems. She is hard on systems and soft on people.

Shannon holds a Masters of Education from Vanderbilt University and Bachelor’s Degree in Journalism and Spanish from Michigan State University.  She has served as an AmeriCorps member, worked in education on higher education access and success for students of color and low income students, and was inspired to get more involved in politics by her students, her greatest teachers.

In Denver, Shannon has worked on a wide array of projects including an affordable housing and grocery store project, worked in retail, curated community events, runs a community investment fund, and has worked on several political campaigns for candidates and initiatives aligned with her values - including her own campaign for Denver City Council!
